Tony Vargas made a committement to quality coaching 28 years ago when he began coaching his first t-ball team.  Since that time he has spent countless hours on and off the field honing his craft.

With a career that began in Little League ending with 11 championships he felt that it was time to move on to a higher level of coaching. In the following years he moved on to Roseville High School where he began as a Freshman pitching coach and then again moved on to Granite Bay High School where he took the postion of Head Junior Varsity Coach and also head pitching coach for JV team where his teams achieved 3 championships. After his accomplishments at the high school level he has now moved onto the college level currently coaching for American River College as their head pitching coach.  

During the off season from the High School teams he also worked with the Little League 17 and 18 year old  Big League players who scored the 2007 Northern California State Championship under his pitching tutledge.

In addition to his other coaching duties he also works with the California Cobras Semi Pro team working with college student from throughout the region.  The Cobras completed the 2008 season  as #2 in the AABC team in Western Region - Stan Musial Division. In the 2008 season he was invited to be the 1st annual Sierra Baseball League All-Star pitching coach. As the pitching coach he was able to coach along side Leon Lee  former pro baseball player, who's son Derek Lee is the Chicago Cubs first baseman. 

In the past he has had the opportunity to work with many former Major League Baseball star players, through Clinics and other coaching opportunities. Some of these players include, Steve Sax, second baseman and Dave Sax, catcher for the LA Dodgers, Billy North, center field, Steve Ontiveros, pitcher, and Dave Stewart for the Oakland Athletics. Also including Fred Breining, pitcher, Mike Sadek, catcher, for the San Francisco Giants, And Lloyd Mosby outfielder for the Toronto Blue Jays.

In the past private lessons have only been available to current and upcoming players, due to a large volume of request he has decided to make them available to committed, dedicated players looking toward improving their skill level and reaching their goals.
