On the Bump Pitching
I've seen Coach Tony Vargas teach solid pitching mechanics to baseball
players in high school and college year-round since the Spring of
2004, and have observed that his students/players have had more
success and fewer pitcher injuries (such as arm strains) than I have
seen with many other pitchers at the high school and college level
during that time. Coach Vargas is a thorough and knowledgeable
instructor, is constantly studying pitching mechanics, and he is a
primary reason that we have had successful and healthy pitchers on the
California Cobras squad, as well as the other high school and All-Star
other teams, where he has been our pitching coach. - Mike Breining,

My name is Michael Beck and I am 14 years old.  I met Tony in 2007, and he evaluated my game and started a pitching plan based on my individual goals.  By breaking down my mechanics, he has given me the innate ability to perform under the highest pressure.  He has helped me develop solid pitches to help with my command on the mound, and in addition, he has taught me the MENTAL part of the game, and how to throw to hitters based on certain situations.  I highly recommend Coach Tony Vargas’s pitching techniques and personalized instruction to anyone at any level.  He has definitely raised the level of my game!

My name is Dr. Beck and I have been involved in baseball communinity of Granite Bay for the last 20 years.  I have met many professionals in my lifetime, as well as treated many professional baseball/football/basketball atheletes.  Knowing and understanding what it takes to be a "true professional", I would recommend On the Bump Pitching Methods to anyone at any level of their game.  I have watched Tony work with kids and adults with intense desire and a real passion.  This is the kind of stuff you can't find in the majority of instructors/coaches.  It's all in the detail......Tony Vargas is definitely one of a kind.

I've been working with Tony for over five years now, first as a pitcher on his team and now as a high school pitching coach, and I have seen him work with hundreds of ball players. The thing I most respect about Tony is his passion for both the game and the players. There has never been a time where he was too busy to work with a player; whether it is a 108+ degree summer day or freezing during january's pre-season, you can count on Tony to be out there working you harder, making you stronger. In 2007 when our team was at the Western Regional, within one game of the Little League World Series, he missed countless days of work to insure that our pitching staff was ready every day. And unlike many, Tony maintains his calm demeanor. When many coaches will yell and scream at players to "motivate" them, Tony simply tells them the problem and how to fix it with a smile on his face. I have truly enjoyed my time working with him.
